What are the names of the 15 songs you play and why you like or dislike them?
Got this off
coloredmyworld Hah not one song by Rihanna, Lady Gaga or Beyonce. I am so weird.
But yah as you can read after clicking on the cut, I can like everything
from ghazals to Jap rock.
1. Mera Jahaan - Taare Zameen Par
Okay I realize it must be kinda nerdy to be listening to this song, but it's my nephews favorite movie and he makes me watch it every Sunday when I babysit him. But the song is really beautifully sang by Adnan Sami and the video is so simple yet meaningful. It shows how special this world is when you look at it through the eyes of a child, while those same things look ordnairy to us grown ups.
2. Coffee & Cigarettes - Michelle Featherstone
Everyone who's a faithful OTH fan has heard this song playing in the Naley 2nd wedding epi, which was epic to us Brucas fans,
even though it was sad but still, it's significant for the BL ship. Besides that it's so beautifully sang and those lyrics...I'm sure a
lot of people can relate. I know I can; "I poured my booze all down the kitchen drain and watched my bad habits get flushed away
I thought that that would keep my head on straight And all my pain would be in yesterday. But it's true I'm still blue
But I finally know what to do. I must quit, I must quit, you.."
3. Don't Speak - No Doubt
As much as I loved Gwen Stefani when she went solo, this song is the best she has done in her career in my opinion. Again the
lyrics get to me it's just a really good song! It's quite old now but I still listen to it every time i'm one of those "moods".
4. Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe Ho - Jagjit Singh
Sigh I must seem like a total emo kid. Again a very sad song, but damn those lyrics some of the best I have ever heard, extremely
brilliantly written a lyrical gem. Small example: Tum jo itna jo muskara rahe ho..kya gam hai jisko chhupa rahe ho. I don't think this
song is for everyone though. I'm very open minded when it comes to music, I enjoy all sorts of music including ghazal songs.
5. Pocket Full Of Sunshine - Natasha Bedingfield
Ahh finally something less depressing. Something extremely happy in fact ^__^ I love this song be cause it's so full of optimism.
6. Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi - Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
Goshy what to say about this one. It's the song I MUST listen every day. It's the song that got me hopeless about Imran. It's one of the
best things about the wonderful movie that is JTYJN. Again it has that optimistic feel to it which I love. Now I could relate so much to
Aditi. Mood swings, extreme emotions..been there done that. Every time the singer goes "kabhi kabhi toh lage har din mushkil aur
har pal ek saza" I go "I knowww =(" This song is exactly what a person like me needs to hear daily. A.R. Rahman at his best.
7. Liberian Girl - Micheal Jackson
I need to give a reason why I love this song? Doesn't the name "Micheal Jackson" already explain everything =) But I'd like to say
this song is so different from all his other songs.
8. Inteha Hogayi Intezaar Ki - Sharabi
Song from an old Amitabh movie. Not just any movie..my fav Big B movie. Nowadays he's so annoying It's hard to remember what
a brilliant actor he really is. But yeah mostly I love this song be cause I get all nostalgic while listening to it, only like it though till
when the male singer is singing, it's very blue/jazz-ish. Don't like how the song changes once the female singer starts and the
songs goes fast.
9. A Little Pain - Olivia Inspi'Reira
I was hooked on this song when I watched Nana (anime) but read some spoilers and didn't like how it was going to end
so stopped watching. I don't understand the Japanese parts..but yeah it's a nice song.
10. Supermassive Black Hole - Muse
Hate to admit I heard this song on the Twilight soundtrack. Very kickass song, I usually listen to it when I'm on my way to work
and need something other than coffee to wake me up. Fav line: "I thought I was a fool for no one but ooh baby I'm a fool for you"
11. Manmohini Morey - Yuvraaj
Yuvraaj was a popular album, how can it not be it's Rahman! But I think most people were in love with Tu Muskura and Tu Hi Toh
Meri Dost Hai. For me Manmohini Morey was the best one, that song just too music to a whole different level, it was like nothing I
had heard before. So so amazingly sang by Vijay Prakash!
12. Love Lockdown - Kanye West
Yes Kanye is a jackass. But that doesn't take away the fact that he makes some real good music. I think part of the reason I like his
songs so much is that when I saw all the rap videos with half naked women in them, Jesus Walks seemed way more meaningful.
Yes Kanye has them naked ladies too, but still I feel his lyrics and videos have more meaning to them compared to others.
13. The Fear You Won't Fall - Joshua Radin
Where all my GA watchers at? *swoooooooooooon* oh this song makes me so emotional. Joshua is one of my favorite singers.
Again the lyrics are ones I'm sure many can people relate to. Always listen to this when I miss him. "I miss you more than I should
than I thought I could". And oh there's this awesome fanvid on youtube, with this song and Mer-Der scenes. Even the Elevator Scene
and Meredith going "I miss you". Total perfection must watch!
14. Hallelujah - Kate Voegle
Just my favorite version of this song, that's all =) Kate annoyed the hell outta me on OTH but she sang this evergreen song very nicely.
15. Bikhra Hoon Main - Atif Aslam
I believe this is another version of "Aadat"? His best song till date according to me, I don't like the way bollywood music directors make
him sing, prefer his older songs much more!
