Several years ago, I worked at Milio's sandwiches as a summer job. Yesterday I stopped at a different location for lunch, and ran into one of my former managers. She gave me the employee discount, and when I mentioned I was going to be looking for work after Christmas, she gave me her card, wrote down a number and said that she'd happily give me a recommendation for a Shift Manager position. All thanks to a spur of the moment decision to grab lunch between buses; I had no idea she worked there. I'm not sure if I really want to work there again (I have biases about food service work), but having the option is very cool.
Today, I made
romesco sauce for the first time, with grilled shrimp and green onions. Nom nom nom. Romesco is awesome. I wish I'd had a
porron, though (the best way to drink red wine ever).
