Happy New Year

Jan 01, 2014 08:41

To ring in the New Year, we made cheeseburgers and french fries. Then drew spiders with the boy on the easel he got for Christmas until he was yawning and flopping on the floor. On a whim, I decided to teach V how to do a sun salutation vinyasa. Our dog Riley insisted on participating, repeatedly showing us the proper form of downward dog. After putting the boy to bed, ST and I cuddled on the couch and watched a big, loud action movie. It was enjoyable and overly long. When it was over we tuned in to 15 minutes of Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin being awkward. We made it to the ball drop - just barely, then went to bed chatting sleepily and aimlessly about movies we love/hate/hope to see/will never see/ ought to write or direct. At some point I fell asleep.

Lowest key New Years, ever. And one of the best.

May 2014 bring the blessing of allowing us all to harvest fruit long sowed. Let this be a year when good things happen.

Selah.
