I would pay big money to watch Hillary take on Palin in a head-to-head debate. Bring the mayo and bread, cause Hillary would eat her alive.
Remember the episode of West Wing when Pres. Bartlett was asked why he was keeping his VP for the next election, despite disliking him and disagreeing with his so much. Bartlett wrote on a piece of paper and handed it one of the guys. It said, "Because I could die." And that is what the VP pick comes down to, the President could die. Palin would be a disaster as head of this country. Biden wouldn't be. It's really very simple.

oh you and your logic! you're talking crazy now.

as to the west wing reference, i think it's funny that more and more people are referring to this election as "sorkin-esque". i love it. and honestly, i hopr robert gibbs, obama's communications guy, has sorkin in his 'informal adviser' rolodex. and i am not kidding at all on that one.

And then there is always that wonderful episode where Bartlett is at the theater and tells the Republican candidate:
When you look back and wonder, and you will,
"Boy, crime, I don't know." is when I decided to kick your ass!"
Revised:
When you look back and wonder, and you will,
picking Sarah Palin because you thought women were stupid enough to fall for it was when I decided to kick your ass!"

Just read the update. Hillary was never one to back down from a fight. Pull up a chair, grab a bag of popcorn, because Hil is about to step into the ring swinging!

I would agree with you D, but I fear the media is not going to cover HRC anymore on the campaign trail. She got RNC delegates to boo the media for favorable Obama coverage last night for minutes and minutes!

Never fear! Hil will always be covered and no matter what the hard right thinks, they won't be able to turn the media gaze from a high powered cat fight. I know that watching Palin must have been deeply disturbing (which is why I read the transcript this morning instead) but don't panic we've a ways to go and this is nowhere near the last card that will be played. Palin had her moment to fire up the evangelical base. Kudos to her. Now the rest of us will get to work exposing her extreme views, refuting the bald faced lies she told about Obama, recruiting and organizing our heads off and otherwise stomping that ass.

ok ok. thank you. that was like a virtual slap(!) snap out of it! and you are right. the daily shows coverage was awesome for tuesday night (watched it online now that i'm cable-free) Snips of Karl Rove saying how Obama's potential VP mate from VA (?) was not experienced because he was the mayor of a 200,000 person community. Flash forward to comments on Palin: she was the mayor of the 2nd! largest town in Alaska, population 7,000. That's refreshing. Then he had Newt Gingrach on; What was Newt thinking? Stewart told him what was up and I felt momentarily calm.
