professionalization

saw an amazing art exhibition last night. i usually don't go nuts for visual art, but this project was done in such a way that it pulled together a bunch of my interests all in one installation/ performance/conversation. also, i think i recruited a couple of artists for the symposium on reflective discourse i'm trying to put together.

i tell you what, i'll be glad when i'm done with that contract. i need to re-focus all my energy on my diss if i'm going to have a draft by december. let's just say i still have a hell of a long way to go on that one! i still haven't finished my coding (because it's tedious and i hate it and it's easy to put off for other seemingly productive work) or done my interviews yet (i don't know why, maybe i'm shy?).

also, now it's time to apply for that post doc. i want it really bad, but i am also sick to death of writing summaries of my project. i don't want to explain what i'm gonna do or even what i'm doing, i just want to do it, thank you very much. but such is the nature of the beast, i guess. let me just say for the record, i think it's really freaking annoying.
