our weekend was none too eventful. c, lil' d and i were all getting over colds, so we pretty much just laid low. we did manage to leave the house before noon to run some errands. this is actually a big accomplishment for us. since having des, leaving the house has become a big feat. our trips have to be a little more planned out, plus we need to ensure we have the baby necessities packed up and ready to go. not to mention that the boy is already showing signs of needing a nap after being up for only a couple of hours.
we did discover somethings about des this weekend too. ever since his first birthday, des has decided to become picky about the foods he eats. the baby who was once insatiable, was beginning to turn down nearly everything we offered him. there have only been a handful of foods that have not become victim to des's pickiness. the boy will not turn down cheese, that is by far his favorite. fries and yogurt are also some of his favorite foods. so instead of struggling with him to eat, we just opted to just offer him food, if he eats, great; if he doesn't, he's not going to starve. the new food that we've discovered that he will eat is chicken strips/nuggets. he ate nearly half of my whataburger chicken strip meal, and on another day, nearly ate 5 wendy's chicken nuggets on his own. not the best food choice, but at least he's eating something.
also, for anyone reading this that owns a dog that sheds quite a bit, i highly recommend getting a
FURminator. we actually purchased one for molly over the weekend. it was a lot more than i am usually willing to spend on a grooming tool for her, but i was getting fed up with constantly brushing her and still finding dog hair everywhere in the house. it strips away the undercoat and leaves the topcoat intact. just after one use, we had removed enough dog hair to fill a plastic shopping bag. eek!
