In case you don't read the comments in my journal...

I SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGES!

Here's why. See, the Bible says that homosexuality should not be practiced. Okay. That's fine. But no one said I was a Christian, did they? I have to admit that I was before, but there's just so much I don't agree with now that I'm old enough to understand. Sure, I'd love to jump back on the Christian bandwagon and pretend that God will solve all of my problems and know that I will go to heaven someday. But from what I've seen, that's just too hard to believe. I guess you could say faith isn't my thing. But that's not my point. My point is, I don't see what is wrong with gay people getting married. Marriage is about love, or at least that's what I was lead to believe. The traditional marriage vows say, "I promise to love, honor, and cherish you, in sickness and in health, until death do us part." Nowhere, anywhere, does it say, "I'm marrying you because a man and a woman should be married so they can give birth to children. Then we can raise our children to be devoted Christians and to help so many people." From what I've seen, Christianity has become less about helping and loving people and more about ticking them off because they're trying so hard to convert them. I'm sorry if you're Christian and I'm insulting you, but really, this is what livejournal is for: to write what you feel. So, what I feel is that Christians should maybe back off a little bit and let people in love be in love, regardless of what gender they are. This country was built on Christianity; however, Christianity seems controlling, now doesn't it? "Don't marry someone if they're the same gender as you because, for some reason, it's wrong."

I have more to say but I don't know what it is. Don't comment, really. Whatever your opinion is, I respect it, I was just saying all of this to clarify, so please do not comment arguing against me.
