(no subject)
I've rearranged my room entirely again. This time, all the sewing equipment is in my room, that way when I sew or do projects, I can lock the damned cats out.
I'm getting my shit together though. I'm tired of lounging in the doldrums of nothingness. Even last night, I took a bunch of ribbon and tattered cloth I had and hair clips, hair ties and made some nice falls I suppose they could be called?
Since I have to wear my hair up at work, I've been looking all around for really cool hair ties with ribbon and little beads hanging from them or as Halloween gets closer, I now have some with little ghosts, bats and skulls glued onto the ends.
I haven't found anything really creative so I said screw it and just went through all my lace ribbon, velvet tatters and satin ribbons. I cut them all up and tied them around metal hair clips and ouchless hair ties.
I must say that they turned out far better than I expected. I even sewed a rose motiff button onto one of the clips right in the center so that the ribbons move out around it. The ribbons on that one are grey, silver, white and black.
Then I made a hair tie fall out of red satin ribbon, black lace ribbon, black velvet tatters and zig-zag trim.
I also made a blue, green and silver hair clip out of ribbon trim with little pink hearts and floral looking lacy bits. It looks really neat and kind of doll-like.
What's great is that the clips are just big enough to fit all my hair in. I have very fine, thin hair so I don't need them to be too big and clunky.
I think next, I'm going to raid some ribbon bins and maybe make matching hair ties for some pig tails!
I also want to make a few hair ties with nice blue themes....and some purply ones too....also maybe some nice gold and brown ones.
If anyone else can think of any other color themes or if they'd even like me to make something for them I'd be more than happy to make something! It's just several dollars of ribbons, a little cutting and alot of tying....and that's about it! Oh and I can always also see what I can get for beads, buttons or whatever to add onto each clip or tie. I think what I may do is instead of tying the beads or buttons on, I'll sew them to each ribbon end so that they never come off!
I'll try to get pictures up soon so you can let me know how they came out!
