Well, usually I do what I can to not report on a news story I found in another blog, but this just bugs me too much.
Violent video games linked to risky behaviorsA study that links violent video games to increased tolerance of alcohol and marijuana. First, they don't establish much of any info about the connection, other than to state it just that simply in the middle of a paragraph that is otherwise about a completely different topic.
Also, it doesn't seem very fair to compare a time-trial sort of mission from The Simpson's: Hit and Run to beating a drug dealer to death with a baseball bat. Yeah, that just seems wrong. "the researchers found, young men who had played the violent game were less cooperative and more competitive in completing an assigned task with another person". Wait...cooperative beatings? Would the researchers have preferred that? "Hey Jimmy, knee him in the crotch, he makes the coolest noise!" Whatever, this whole study just kinda ticks me off in it's lack of detail.
