My only readers are still at Camp Woodmen, but I guess an update won't hurt

Where to start.......
Well, I missed services last week as a result of staying up until 5:00 in the morning. It wasn't that I wouldn't sleep, I just couldn't. I probably could have gotten up for services, but I wouldn't have remembered he sermon. I ended up going to see Superman Returns that night, which I enjoyed.....for the most part. There is one thing that continually annoys me about Superman, and I will sum it up in one question. If I take off my glasses, do I look so different as to make people think I'm someone else?

I didn't really do anything special on the 4th of July. I had another interesting car adventure. I had swapped cars with my parents that day, so I was driving their Ford Escort. I took it to Best Buy, and when I parked the car, and got out, I was no more than eight feet away before hearing a whooshing sound. I turned around and all of the anti-freeze was pouring out of the bottom.  It turned out to be a pinhole in a hose near the radiator, and was a simple, and inexpensive repair.

I did catch some of "A Capitol Fourth," which (as the name implies) is a concert from Washington D.C. Their second to last musical selection was the finale of the 1812 Overture by Tchaichovsky. (Did I spell that correctly?) It was performed by the National Symphony Orchestra, featuring the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, and a full row of cannons!!! (The cannons are essential for the 1812 Overture. They were written into the original score)

This week, I was informed by my full timer that on the night of my 21st birthday, he is going to get as many guys in the wing as it takes to duct tape me to one of the poles inside the building. Upon first hearing this, my first reaction was to think that on that night I would put up as much of a fight as I can, kicking, and even biting if need be. However, I thought about it today, and that's not Christian behavior at all, so I don't reckon I'll handle it that way. And to be honest, I probably have it coming to me.  What I can do is simply not resist at all, to the point of going limp. It won't stop them (again Kevin, you should know that), but it could deprive them of a lot of their fun. It will also serve as an interesting test to their true strength. It's harder to someone completely limp.

Today (by which I mean Friday since I have not yet gone to bed) was my trumpet lesson. Paul said he came extremely close to being able to buy a pair of herald trumpets, but they were sold before he could. Too bad, those would have been great for our offertory, and any other projects we do in the future. Still, our own horns will suffice.
