I freaking love the shot of the jogger over the trees in the beginning, for one. And then the closeups of their faces, especially in the cafe. UNF. Like I said on twitter, I adore how Jensen's hair is always a tiny bit longer in the first episode they film right after hiatus. *____*
Overall I really liked the episode. Very interesting case and awesome monster. Dean being giddy about hunting again is always nice. :D:D Although knowing this show, it's gonna come back and bite me in the ass, for sure. Like, maybe he's so gungho about the family business because he's done ~things~ in Purgatory or something. Eep!

The ending, though, was a big MEH for me. Not just because of Evil Vet Lady, either. It's, like, "OH, THIS IS THE VERY FIRST TIME SOMEONE'S SURPRISED ME WITH A BIRTHDAY CAKE! T__T" versus "OH, I GOTTA KILL ALL THESE MONSTERS TO SURVIVE WHILE FINDING A WAY OUT TO GET TO MY BROTHER." What the eff.
I know, I know. There's gotta be ~reasons~ and backstory to Sam's year, but c'mon. Give us something already! :|||
