Ah, man, really? That's a bummer.

See, to me, that's *totally* ic. Dean just spent a year in a 'pure' place, i.e: he spent a year hunting and killing and using violence to solve all his problems. No grey - just black and white.

He's stuck in that mind set. He admitted to *liking* that mind set. He hated dealing with monsters that had feelings and real motives and might not be all that bad, after all - he longed, for several seasons, for a return to season one's 'find monster, kill monster' simplicity.

So he had that for a year and it's hard to shake. Not only is he more intense, more *on* - twitchy, even - he's got no patience for the tap-dance Sam was going through, he just wants to achieve his goal.

And i get him wishing he'd taken out Crowley. Yes, Ms. Tran would be dead, but their biggest enemy would be dead, too, they'd have the tablet and they could banish all demons. He sees her post-possession catatonia and is probably thinking of the poor guy who first hosted Raphael - that she'll never come out of it, and Kevin will be in this holding pattern of guilt and mourning for months if not years.

So - it's not ooc to me *at all*.
*pets him*

For me, I can see that that's what they're trying to reach, but it's not what I'm getting from the episode. So it's sort of an okay premise with poor execution, I guess? :\
