like something underwater:

Went to [Aquaria] yesterday with my dad, niece, and brother-in-law. It's this giant aquarium type thingy and it was super fun but damn tiring. It didn't help that a) I didn't have breakfast or lunch before going, b) I have a three year-old who bounced around one minute and was uber cranky the next tagging along, and c) there were a boatload of people there because it was a Saturday. But I had so much fun anyway. :)

It was all very gorgeous, but I stupidly didn't bring my DVDcam, so you have to excuse the crappy vidding and pictures. My phone's camera isn't so great and neither is my handling skills when it comes to it. Still. Pretty fish and stuff! ♥

I didn't take out my phone when we're going through the fresh water portion (rainforest part) of the aquarium until the very end because it was fairly dark and it wasn't anything I haven't seen a couple of times in my grandma's backyard. At the end of it, though, was this 5.3 meter-tall tank of Malaysian Flooded Rainforest and I took a couple of pictures of it.

Here's a lovely one of my niece with the fish at the bottom of it. :)

And then we came to the tank of the Amazon flood forest. It was incredible, so I took a video. These arapaima are humongous.

After that, we entered the saltwater/ocean portion of the aquarium where we walked through this tunnel and it's like walking underwater. Really wished I had my DVDcam then. It was beautiful. :|

Mind you, because of the glass the tunnel was built with, everything was actually 30% smaller than their actual sizes! :D

Here's a bunch of fish.

A couple of sharks. I think they were sandtiger sharks. They were a couple of nursing sharks in the open tank outside. We couldn't pet them, though. Although one came really close to my niece's hand.

A closer look at the sharks.

They also had a couple of giant stingrays. I'm not sure what's sticking itself above our heads, though. I was too busy filming to make sure. :P

Then we saw a turtle, some sharks, and a stingray again. Also a bunch of other fish.

There are big windows when we walked out of the tunnel so we could still see the fish inside the tunnel from another side. You're gonna see what I mean by there being a lot of people there.

A turtle! And my niece got a little excited.

Lastly, the coral reef tank. And some clown fish. :D

Dang. I felt like smacking myself upside the head for leaving my DVDcam at home. These would all be prettier if they were brighter and stuff. :/

My baby brother was supposed to come with us, but he didn't. So maybe I'd go again with him and a friend. I can probably get better pictures and videos next time! :)

see me as i really am
