I'm going to New York to visit the one school out of the 13 I applied to that accepted me. God that's humbling. Oh well, I knew this would be competitive, and it didn't help that 75% of the schools I applied to were above and beyond my measly LSAT score and GPA. I am excited, nonetheless. I'm reading this book called 1-L written by a first year student at Harvard law, and contrary to what I ought to be feeling from reading it, I'm looking forward to the pressure. I've managed to float through Undergrad without really applying my skills or feeling challenged, it's about time that I start doing what interests me and get a chance to prove myself. I like hard work, despite the inevitable stress and anxiety that awaits me. I think I will be good at this stuff, I thrive in a competitive environment (when there is no math or science involved).
Anyways, I leave on Tuesday and will be gone until Saturday. One day to cruise around White Plains, getting to know the city and best places to live. One day for my orientation, and one day to "do" NYC. I'm excited for the NYC day, although one day wont do it any justice, it'll give me a taste of something to look forward to. Any suggestions on things I MUST see in the one day I'll be there? I've been once before when I was little and all we did was climb to the top of the Statue of Liberty and then leave. Anyone know anything about getting into Broadway shows at a discount? Someone told me that you can go to the dress rehearsals for free, but I don't know how dependable that information is.
So who wants a cheesy NYC souvenir? Mini-statues of liberty? Pencils shaped like the Empire State Building? An "I got mugged in NYC and all I got to keep was this lousy t-shirt"?
