Last Day o' Term

Hey all,

Well, this term of uni is drawing to a close, and I've just handed in two more assignments. I have another one to do over the Easter hols, but I'm not worrying about that one just yet - three weeks is plenty time. It does feel good to once again not have any immediate deadlines ready to jump out on me from the dark alleys of academia (okay that was a bit melodramatic). I have to say that I'm looking forward to these next few weeks. Visitng Leeds is always good, and I'll have a chance to just kick back and enjoy some decent RP'ing.

Speaking of which, those of you who are passingly familiar with the Camarilla LARP society may want to check out this link

On Monday night I ran another session of Unhallowed Metropolis, which rapidly turned into one of my "top five" gaming sessions that I've ever run. The player characters (now having formed a small-scale Mercenary company) were hired to retrieve a valuable item from a man who was recently admitted to a maximum security asylum in London. The (almost inevitable) result: they got trapped inside as a mass-breakout ensued and they found themselves being hunted by a psychotic tech-genius who had seized control of the building. It was enormous fun from beginning to end. All of the PCs came close to death at various points and ended up using their Devil's Luck to escape the situations at the cost of a little piece of their own souls. It was a joy for me to Storytell, throwing the characters into one horrible situation after another and watching them pit their wits against my powerful NPC psychopath. In the end of course they triumphed, but now they're all one stop closer to becoming amoral monsters themselves...the bitter irony of the UnMet setting is that evil endures, regardless. Those who stand and fight don't become heroes; they either get squashed like insects or end up switching sides, since life seems to cheapen somewhat after you've blown the head off yet another zombified former-loved-one.
By contrast, this up-and-coming film looks like a laugh riot:

Okay, that's all for now. Have a good one.
