Ok, I decided to keep out of the huge uproar yesterday over a particular activist group who pushed Livejournal to suspend hundreds of accounts based purely on inclusion of any interest that would indicate (if you didn't look at anything else about the profile or journal itself) their interest or involvement in sensitive issues like rape or ( Read more... )

I hadn't read this and I agree with you about LJ being okay. However, I still think that WFI is a dangerous vigilante group that bears watching. I'm a lot more angry with them than I am with LJ fucking up, which I expected would be rectified once they realized they were going to lose business over it.

Did you notice that the very first response to that apology contains no content other than the word "FIRST" and has about a 50-reply tail attached to it? People can be such children....

I also didn't really catch wind of it until someone else on my friendspage asked about it. I saw a Bethy-post but figured it was isolated to one comm and didn't investigate further.
