"Brian, look...we'll talk about it after the break." Vince's thumb twiddled along the red button of his cell phone that would undoubtedly end the call to his concerned coworker. Brian had been having some trouble with one particular student who had threatened to tell the dean that she was being sexually harassed if he did not provide her with the grade she wanted. Vince naturally knew that there was nothing to worry about - Brian might have had his creepy stare but he was never the type to physically harass anyone. Still, after an hour on the phone, the man had still not calmed down ( ... )

A combination of jingling keys and the familiar voice at the door drew Abby's attention away from her thoughts. Wicket's ears twitched expectantly, and the small kitten clamored up the back of Abby's couch to get a better look at the figure coming in through the front door. With one playful tug on the kitten's tail, Abby rose to greet her boyfriend.

"Hi," she told him with a knowing smile as she smoothly stepped into his embrace. Her lips sought his, and she momentarily allowed their greeting kiss to linger. Playfully, then, she gestured to the phone, although she did not quite step away. "You know, it's rude to hang up on people."

"Hardly. It's actually rude to not greet a beautiful woman appropriately," he counter as his hands quickly fell on Abby's waist. A few weeks was too long to wait for something like this. Unfortunately, he rarely had a chance to match his schedule with hers these days - another side effect of the school system. But at last, he realized now that this might have been worth the wait. In the back of his mind, he had wondered whether waiting longer would have made her wear even less clothing, or preferably none at all ( ... )

Actions spoke louder than words -- but the words were nice to hear as well. His hands on her waist were welcome -- and no more welcome than his hands on her bottom. The small gesture pulled their bodies against one another, and she tilted her head back a little to meet his kiss.

What was it with her sex drive and Vince? Their relationship was about more than sex -- sex just seemed to be a greeting...and a goodbye, with lots of nude or barely clad time in between. She was comfortable with that -- and, apparently, so was he.

A sudden buzz caught her attention, and she glanced down in surprise. Her smile widened into a grin as she pointed out, "Something in your pants is vibrating."

"You should know that I'm just very excited to see." Well, there was truth in that, but the vibrating didn't stem from his own enjoyment. Reaching into his jean pocket with one hand (his other still holding Abby securely around him), Vince turned the phone screen to his eyes, hoping - praying for a surprise name. But no luck, unfortunately it was his colleague again. Now came the debate of how he was supposed to answer this. Undoubtedly, no answer would have lead to more calls and more messages.

"Hm, tough luck. Looks like someone else wants my attention." Vince sighed, and then proceeded to laugh as the phone continued buzzing away. Although the phone rumbled evenly at each interval, it felt as though the device in his hand was getting progressively louder. Maybe his colleague just needed a little bit of female convincing.

"Babe, could you answer this one for me? Brian's a little bit troubled today. I figure he'll quiet down when he hears your voice," he added as he turned his phone to his girlfriend.

"Get the door when the bell rings," Abby answered as she took the phone from him, allowing the phone to vibrate a moment in her hand as she rose to seal the statement with a brief kiss.

It was probably a good thing the phone had interrupted them -- if things kept going the way they had been, Abby and Vince would have been in round two (if not three) by the time Chris arrived. While that wasn't all bad in Abby's mind, it would probably be much politer to wait for their company to arrive.

Stepping away from him, Abby answered the phone with a note of amusement. "Hello, Vince's phone." A pause. "Yes, this is Abby." A second pause, this one for much longer this time. Abby shot Vince a grin as she answered, "Oh, Vince hung up on you, did he? That doesn't sound like him. Are you sure you just didn't lose reception?"
