Okay, at our motel, it's our policy to charge $300.00 for smoking in a non-smoking room. We even have a sign with this policy on it posted for everyone to see, with the follow-up "You have agreed to these terms by signing for the room you paid for." Well, we only have two smoking rooms, which are usually the first to be sold, so when these rooms are already sold, but someone wants to smoke, we offer them a room on the first floor so all they have to do is step outside (our first floor rooms have entrances on both the inside and the outside). One night, I had to make one such offer to a patron who looked down at our policy, read it, then exclaimed, "I ain't payin' no $300 for smoking in a non-smoking room!" My reply was instant, "Then don't smoke in it." The two ladies in line behind him were trying not to laugh.
And today, housekeeping came to us twice bearing evidence that two non-smoking rooms had been smoked in (besides the tell-tale smell). One was on the second floor, but the one on the first floor really took the cake for this one - they went through so much trouble to avoid having to go outside to smoke that they might as well have just gone outside to save themselves the extra effort *rolls eyes*. So, now these people have $300 added to their bills. What morons, ne?
Well, I g2g back to work now - I just wanted to share this with y'all.
