Well, I've finally woken up for the day. Daniel and I had to work yesterday to continue my front desk training, but it didn't work out quite the way we wanted it to. First of all, my first patron/s of the day was/were an Italian couple fresh out of Italy with thick accents - I got a wee bit flustered. After I got them squared away, I sold the last room to the person behind them in line, which freed me up to do other things. Before all of this, however, I had to go upstairs and clean a room that somehow got missed by housekeeping. It didn't take me long to get it done, though, but it was rented before I was finished - luckily the customers were completely understanding and opted to go out for some food before settling in. Why did this fall to me to do? Because out of the six maids scheduled for work yesterday, only three showed up and of those three none of them were trained to use the industrial washer and dryers, and all three of them wanted to get out of work sooner rather than later. So I spend the night (from about 8pm until 1am) folding the laundry while Daniel kept the washer and dryer going. During the night, the washer got a little off-balance during the spin cycle and started thumping like crazy. It was about one minute away from finishing that cycle and all its thumping when the person in the room nextdoor came in to complain about it, so we didn't get to finish, but we HAD made a considerable dent in the ammount of work that had been waiting to be done. Hell, the sheets and towels had been in a small mountainous heap below the laundry chute because no one had even tried to sort anything, all of the clean stuff had been stuffed into carts and left there. *sighs wearily* My back was killing me by the time we called it quits. Daniel and I were supposed to have gotten off work at11:00pm, midnight at the latest, but we continued folding until we couldn't stand up straight. And to top it off, my iPod Shuffle's battery ran out half way through so I couldn't listen to my music while I worked anymore. *pouts* Anywho, we finally got home and both had a beer and played some card games before turning in.

I miss my Jessi-cat.

-DAMN

beer, cards, laundry, cat, assholes, work, super8, lazy
