what are you thinking? you were someone's son...

"As you stand there at the edge of your life,
what do you remember? was it all you wanted?
I'm trying to earn a set of feathery wings,
i wish i could protect you here,
oh, please don't cry, now smile,
as you're standing at the edge of your life.
your troubles are over, mine are just beginning.
I'm trying to earn a set of feathery wings,
to take me away from here, its me you leave behind.

if only i could have been there,
i'd be a hand for the sinking.
if only i could have been there,
i'd be a prayer for the dying.
see the pain etched in my face.
oh, i'm so sick and tired of

the taste of tears,
the sting of pain,
the smell of fear,
the sounds of crying."
"Feathery Wings" - Voltaire

When we lose someone we love, the pain is unbearable, wether it be through a break up or even death, the emotions run deep and can shatter the heart and soul for life. But when someone takes their own life... the situation changes drastically... If a loved one dies of old age, or in a tragic accident, there is a point where you can come to terms with inevitability. But when someone takes their own life then there is a level of guilt placed upon their friends and family that is overwhelming. The fact that they were so unhappy that they would rather die than stick it out. It's something that you can never let go.

Suicide has always been known as "A Permanent Solution to a Temporary Problem" and well, it really is, but it's not as simple as being dismissed. There have been so many piss ass emo fucks who whine about "oh my life is so horrible i should kill myself" that people view any suicide threat as crying wolf. So no one is ever there when someone is serious, and then it's too late.

Even if someone is using suicide as a cry for help, an attention getter, at least help them out of their situation. Because even if they never intended to kill themselves, if they really are scared or nervous they may not think clearly enough to stop themselves.

But at the same time those bastards who use it as a weapon to get what they want really need the shit kicked out of them. The "Crying wolf" assessment should be used on a case to case basis, not everyone is using suicide as a cry for help, some people are serious.

Human life is something that should be respected, not looked down on or abused. If you take your life, then everyone you ever cared about is destroyed... they die with you. And that simply isn't fair.
