The pen is a weapon of the greatest caliber. And as anyone who knows me can tell you, Any weapon in my hands is much more deadly. I hurt people when I use the written word, I make people angry, I make people cry. When I put my heart behind the words that I say it can move souls to the light, or bring a country to it's knees...
I some times fear that I'll wake up in Prague with a thousand dead and the phone still clutched in my hand.
Words are nothing, words themselves mean nothing. It's the way they are used which gives them life... the one who puts them together, that makes them a weapon. One word can mean so many different things just by the vocalization of how it is pronounced. But when words are typed they can only convey information. But if the correct information is conveyed... emotions are forged.
There's a distinct feeling when one reads about all the hundreds of soldiers that died in Iraq, but all someone has to do is change hundreds, to thousands, and it brings an even more powerful feeling. that one word can change everything, just because of where it was placed. The government uses bigger words to make us bored and make events seem unemotional, Inspirational Speakers use harder, shorter words, to keep us interested, and Comedians play on words to make us laugh.
But when someone uses the words improperly, they can become a time bomb, waiting to go off.
and the only thing that is more deadly than a man who is using falsified information to get his way... is someone who believes in what they were told and was misinformed from the start.
the pen is a weapon that can turn the tide of an entire world if put into the right hands.
and i promise to spend my time using the pen to bring joy instead of hate, truth instead of lies...
whether the truth hurts or not...
fuck you
