so, tonight was quite nice. sara and i ate at andolini's and got to watch 'i love the 80s' in the back room and it ruled. the bad thing, though, is that they had the stereo on back there which had some most excellent music coming out of it. for example, 'new year's day' by U2 and 'burning for you' by blue oyster cult. it was very difficult to have excellent music AND excellent television to deal with simultaneously. then, i thought that i was devastated because i forgot to ask them to leave mushroom and olives and some other nasty stuff off of my salad and went to go buy a new one and they just made me another for free! that was also excellent. then, ross came in and sara and i tested out 'the big lebowski' trivia on him and he got almost every single one right. this is because ross rules. he even knew who knox harrington was and that larry sellers got a "D" on his lousiana purchase homework.
the actual trivia was tiring but fun. sara didn't really have fun doing the trivia, though. she didn't like having to command people's attention for long periods of time, being in charge of something, and having to yell. i sort of like all of those things, so i thought it was pretty crescent. except that people were in a bar and were drinking and were loud and had the attention spans of a two-year-old. way to go, sally, by the way on the 'middle school science' category. all of the questions were big hits. and it was great that we got the keep the free bar tab in the family when loni and her friend won.
after trivia was over, i got to hang out with kevin hamilton for a long time which was great. i love talking to him. he's one of my all-time favorite people ever, and i hadn't had the priviledge of spending such quality time with him in ages. also, sara and i talked to this guy named clennan for ages. he mostly professed his love for the stooges and minor threat and joy division and the cure and such, but he also has 80s dance parties and is supposedly going to invite us the next time he has one. he was weird. he made sara touch his man boobs and talked about being gay alot.
then we went home. i don't know why i'm writing in my livejournal so much these days!
oh, i almost forgot the reason for my subject line. they were rocking the rage against the machine at the upper deck, and kevin was getting his serious rock groove on, and i reminded him of his primus-loving days when he was in the band 'heavy water meter'. haha. i know all of his dirty little secrets. and then i was reminded of my friend maegan gudridge who used to believe that 'a tube of ky jelly and a box of taco shells' should have been in the place of 'they rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells.' haha! i think about that every time i hear that song. man, i haven't seen maegan since my friends lindsay and jason got married. crazy....
oh my god, none of you care about any of this shit at all!
