my first experience trying to get an academic advising appointment is also my first experience with temples infamous academic advising run-around.
student physically goes to the btmm advising office. secretary says she doesnt make appointments, the advisors do. "go to one of their offices or contact them to make an appointment," she says.
"so you dont make the appointments, and i should just contact them directly to set one up?" i ask to be postively sure.
"yes." AFFIRMATIVE. she says i need to contact them anyway so they can pull my file before the appointment. makes sense.
student sends email to an advisor stating her name and the issues she hopes to address at an advising session.
receives email back, and i quote:
Please call the Academic Advising Center as I do not make my own
appointments. They can be reached by calling 215-204-5273 or visiting
them in room 9 of Annenberg Hall.
GUESS WHAT. THATS WHERE I FUCKING WENT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
