michel gondry is the reason i miss film.
(ifc's "film school" is the reason i do not.)
so today for fathers day, my family trekked to princeton record exchange (<33333)
because that is where all good families should take their fathers.
yeah, i handed over seventy bucks to the prex gods, as per usual, and i feel awesome about it.
AMAZING PURCHASES OF THE DAY:
- the work of director michel gondry
i watched most of disc one and mm mmm good.
- LOOSE FUR (self-titled)
listened to the first two tracks and had to stop because it was too amazing. it requires full respect (headphones and a long attention span).
- wilco (AM)
i was going to get it this week anyway. i now own every wilco release (except the billy bragg mermaid ave. volumes), and only summerteeth is burned. go me.
- the streets (original pirate material)
ive been waiting to get this for a long, long time. mike skinner, youre too cool.
- viva voce (the heat can melt your brain)
the obligatory "this looks interesting although i dont know a thing about it" purchase. put on the first two tracks and it rocks. always does.
- vanilla sky
why this is one of my alltime favorite movies, ill never know. maybe its tom cruise, maybe its radiohead as the opener, maybe its sigur ros as the closer. it was $4.
im a fucking WHORE.
and want to listen to everything at once.
