Recent things:
Thursday, Daniel destroyed his bedroom door and closet doors because he couldn't deal with his 1 year old son crying and screaming. I told him to stop by our house when I heard from Steve what happened. Later that day, while Steve and I were on the way to Invstor's Group, Daniel's wife Fern called me crying about what she just came home to and she begged me not to let Daniel go back to their house. She asked me if she should call the cops, and I told her that if she felt she needed to, then she should. Also, we finally purchased our couch and it was delivered this day.
Friday, I had an appointment with Andie and I ended up calling child protective service. In Alberta, every adult is legally obligated to report any situation where a child could be at risk. I told Fern, then later Dan, what I did. I don't think Fern was happy that I reported it. Dan was really pissed. But really this thing has been stewing for the past year, and nothing's changed. They clearly need support, and if they just go back to 'normal' then nothing's gonna get better. They both need to develop better life skills and Daniel especially need to learn some self care.
Steve and I went to our first Christmas event of the year at Phil and Sandeep's. There's his office one, Saffron's, maybe Kurtis and Garrette's, Cathy's, the Gazzard's, and the Decks still. Maybe something with my parents... Maybe something with Fern. God I hate Christmas! It's too much.
Saturday, Steve and I went to Chris' choir's concert with the CPO at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Cathy bought us tickets. I had a shitty headache all day that stuck around from the previous day, but I still made sure I appreciated the show. I wasn't particularly wowed by the soloist, but the conductor was fun and there was a surprise Santa.
Today, I still had the headache. Steve made breakfast. Hash browns, eggs and bacon. I tried to play some Pokemon Omega Ruby but couldn't focus because of the headache, and I ended up falling asleep. We took Amber to the dog park and we lost one of her chuck-it balls. We went to the grocery store and stocked up on some things, then after dinner we watched some modded Minecraft on YouTube with Daniel. We also finally got rid of some furniture we needed to get rid off!
