There's plenty of telepaths in the world. It's not a particularly unique trait, being psychic. Not many people like the term 'psychic' to describe their mutant powers, however, since it brings to mind fortune tellers and those blokes in black turtlenecks calling out to people's dead relatives. Being able to see the future, now that is a talent that is tougher to find.
Which is too bad. In times like these, when everyone is stressed and terrified, it might be nice to have a bit of assurance about how things will turn out. As it is, some people are asking ME as if I have a bloody clue. Look, mate, I'm made up of psionic energy, yeah, but potential and reality are different things. I'm rubbish, and I don't have a clue. I can't answer anyone's questions.
