Though Americans cannot agree as a nation on how to deal with immigration, Mexicans as a nation should all agree that crossing through remote desert is a really risky idea.

Let's assume that they are aware of that and discuss the fact that it is worth it to them to try it anyway.

Do you feel the United States could possibly articulate a policy when risk assessments of Mexicans are just that skewed in favor of a chance at getting here?

Could you repeat the question?

(Are you saying the liberal Jew media is overreporting these stories to influence policy?)

Regardless of our depedence on and even the necessity of illegal immigrants, it is in our interest to reduce unregulated migration.

What I mean is, if it is not impossible to discourage migrants with the deterrence of reason [by removing all safe means of passage], how can we do it?

Do we cease to distinguish between the US and Mexico and just invite anyone who wants? Do we set up brutal defenses along the entire Mexico border?

My question is how do we articulate a policy to counteract the sense of desperation felt by some Mexicans bold enough to possibly throw their lives away?

Also I have no idea what you were trying to say about the media.

Haha! I wasn't trying to say anything about the media. It seems like if anti-immigration people mention the media even obliquely, the next step is to bring out the "liberal, Jew-run" part.

I didn't actually think you were going in that direction, by the way.

Yes -- the responsibility then is to formulate a policy that allows for the safe, expedient and charitable processing of desperate migrants instead of merely burying our isolationist heads in the sand. If people are going to risk their lives to come over here, and they are no matter what we do, it's on us to figure out how best to deal with that -- turning people away at the door is simply not a realistic option, and probably has never been in the history of the country's sovereignty.

Well most of what I said is serious. I don't think it's at all reasonable to expect that we provide a safe illegal immigration experience to everyone. It just doesn't work that way.
