160: What song best describes your life?
I wasn't prepared to get caught. That's the problem with these stupid mp3 things - if you put in earphones, people can sneak up on you.

I nearly jumped out of my skin. Freckles thinks she's funny sometimes. I hit pause and gave her the glare that deserved. She was still giggling.
"I like the 'Oh-a ohs,' too. What kind of dinosaur music did you put on there?"
"It's a cover album. I was in the used shop and it had a lot of classics like that one..do you mind?"
She snatched the iRiver out of my hand before I could stop her. "'Blue Monday?' 'Video Killed the Radio Star?' 'Come On, Eileen?' I didn't have you pegged as the New Wave type."
"What you don't know about me could fill an ipod, Wheeler. Now gimme that back." I reached for it, but she dangled it out of my reach, still scanning the playlist.
"Oooh, 'Watching the Detectives.' Nice irony there."
"Yes, I like Elvis Costello. I'd like to listen to him now. My device?"
She snorted and kept looking. "What's this one? You've got three versions."
I knew which one she meant. "Look, just give it back. I don't need you ragging on my music."
She cued it up, and started laughing as she played it. "Yeah, that's you all right. And it's true - from what I hear, this fits."
I rolled my eyes and reached for my player. "Yeah, I know. 'Girls Talk' - don't I know it."
