Best of 2009: Part I

What was your best trip in 2009?

The best trip was our only true trip of the year - our belated honeymoon in Seattle. Whether it was visiting our koumbaro, Stan, making discoveries in Seattle's great local food scene, or visiting outlying areas full of scenic beauty, we had an absolute blast.

I am one of your liberal friends and I don't think of you as hard core conservative! more moderate, independent.

I was thinking another night out, or rather night in, that I really enjoyed was the night we spent in Madison, going to that great restaurant and then getting drunk and playing catchphrase.

Indeed, that meal was very high on my list, too. The Brussels sprouts I had that night have made appearances in recent weeks, both as a meal by themselves and on pasta. We had an absolutely wonderful time hosting the two of you, and I'd like to be able to have more of those kinds of evenings next year, be they in Chicago or up here.

yes!! always lots of fun. We'll see you guys one of these days I'm sure. We both LOOOOVED Madison, who knows, maybe we'll move there someday. If I do indeed continue on a career of public health there's a lot of neat stuff going on up there.

I should add: it's hard to know how I come across to folks because I don't have an ideological adherence to one side or another, so I wind up agreeing with the Left on some issues and the Right on others. I guess I figure that more often that not I come across as more conservative than most of my friends, but maybe that's just because it seems like we'd be more likely to notices the differences of opinion than the agreements.
