Bad Water, Pt. II
Update on our water situation from yesterday: all we've got is one of the toilets. The inspector from the city utility got one working last night before he left, then called a half-hour later to say the plumber would be showing up at 9pm. The plumber never showed, and still hasn't showed. I placed a call to the utility this morning, and they called the inspector from yesterday back. He called me 15 minutes ago to say he's trying to track down the plumber who stood us up.
Meanwhile, we've been without water (minus the one toilet restored to working condition) in the house for 25 hours now, slightly longer than the 7.5 estimated by the contractor down the street who so graciously shut of the mains yesterday. I wonder how long our mythic "emergency supply of water" is supposed to hold out?
