I live in Midtown, around 35th Street. I'm located near police precincts and greasy takeout joints, not exactly "tourist area". And then spring break comes along and I'm reminded that all of New York City is now "tourist area." Apparently, the parts of the City that haven't been commercialized are now well-known for a couple of TV shows -- that arrest-and-trial crap, "Order for All" (seriously, we're not ALL rage-a-holic, cops-on-the-edge, guys) and the other one, "CSU: Manhattan" (who knew urine samples could be "sexy"?).

So what does this equal? Tourists hanging out near my apartment asking me if the fictional "26th precinct" is real. At least I didn't have my badge out. All I need is people asking me if I'M real and asking me for my autograph.
