Letter from the Brass

Actually they also phoned me and had me go out to 1PP, but, beaurocrats that they are, they also sent me this:

To: Detective John Munch

As Captain Donald Cragen is not returning in the foreseeable future, and there is a shortage of higher-ranking officers who are able to lead a squad such as Special Victims, we have a proposal for you. With the offer of a slight pay increase, while retaining your title of Detective, we would like to make you the Commanding Officer of the Special Victims Unit. Your years on the force both here and in Baltimore, as well as your time spent with Special Victims have led us to believe you are more than capable of commanding this squad. In addition to being the most senior member, you appear to be the one with the least IAB run-ins. Please let us know before April 4, so we can consider other options if you do not find this is something you would like to do.

Call me crazy, but I said yes. I told them yesterday, the fourth. It is officially the fifth of April now... I haven't slept though. Not the best way to start out, but it's me and I've got a million things running through my head.

Oh...Stabler, Hoffman, Silvera and Harper? Team meeting. Soon. Very, very soon.
