The Imonoyama Zaibatsu, one of the largest group in Japan, founded The CLAMP Academy , a new and unique approach to academics. The CLAMP Academy is an institution developed to groom the future generations, containing six divisions: Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior High, High school, University and Graduate. It is privately funded and allows anyone to apply as long as they have something to contribute, such as talent and intelligence. The school itself acts as its own city, providing housing, entertainment, and other luxuries so that people can both study, work and live within its wall. The academy’s aim is to add a sense of community within an academic environment, while nurturing the greatest and most talented members of society. An additional privilege of the institution is the student involvement in the decision-making of their division. Each of the six divisions are able to appoint a class board that governs the affairs of their divisions, and their decisions outrank any of the school board member or any other school association.
Enter Nokoru Imonoyama a highly intelligent 6th grader with handsome looks and charm, but it is revealed that there is more than meets the eye to this young boy. Although, he’s famously known as the youngest son of the Imonoyama Zaibatsu, who is the founders of the CLAMP Academy, he is also the chairman of the Elementary division student council. He’s widely popular by the female student body, women from elementary to graduate level are seen fawning over him, despite not receiving any reciprocation of those same feelings. Though, he doesn’t return these feelings, he isn’t cold hearted. In fact, he has a quirk of coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress. It’s almost like a sixth sense how he can pinpoint the distress of a woman, and that the age doesn’t matter. In the first chapter of the manga, Nokoru is very eager to help an elderly woman he saw crying. Once he finds the reason for her sadness, he is determined to make things right.
The inspiration of the CLAMP SCHOOL Detective Agency was a result of aiding the chairwoman of the CLAMP Academy with a case of a stolen school assignment list. But Nokoru received more from the case than the gratification that he has done right by a woman, he found that he could utilize the skills of his board members and the one skills he possesses himself, to aid the girls at his school. The CLAMP school detective agency became a way that Nokoru to soothe female’s student body’s perils, as well as distract himself from the duties of his chairmanship. As Nokoru uses the detective agency to solve the problems of the women on his campus, he also shows not only his skills, but his deep devotion to the females in his school.
His companions and friends that Nokoru is always around and involves in his whims are Suoh Takamura, a boy from a famous ninja clan with a high IQ, and Akira Ijyuin, a master chef who also excels in martial arts as well as hiding the secret of being a famous thief, 20 faces. Although as a trio, they all get along well and are willing to protect each other, the relationship between Nokoru and Suoh is noteworthy. Three years prior to the setting of the manga, Nokoru is a 3rd grader who has the title of chairman and solely handled the student government duties on his own. At first both boys didn’t get along, simply because Suoh was uncomfortable with the fact that Nokoro always had girls around him, and Nokoru who has been in terrible predicaments because of his status and wealth, distanced himself from people to avoid them getting hurt.
One day, Nokoru invited Suoh for some popsicles, where they are both kidnapped by a group of men. They imprison both Nokoru and Suoh, and leader of the kidnapping tried to convince Nokoru to allow them the use of his brain and his control of the Electrical Engineering division. When Nokoru refused, she threatened to harm Suoh, conflicted; because he doesn’t want the other to be harmed because of him Nokoru began to agree. But Suoh burst through the doors, revealing that he had singlehandedly gotten out of his cell and overpowered the guards. The two boys manage to escape to the roof via an a hidden escape hatch. But before they could get away, the kidnappers shot at them and Nokoru stood in the line of fire to protect Suoh. It was then that Suoh pledged to always protect Nokoru and stay by his side.
In the same timeline, Nokoru is also the General for Duklyon, a duo who protects the Clamp Academy from the Imonoyama Shopping district. Nokoru’s role is minor, but no less important. Being the General, he was the one to give out the missions to the Duklyon.

Even though his life demands him to be mature, Nokoru can only be playful in response. One thing to note about Nokoru is his playful nature. He enjoys life and he likes to have fun, which is why he places a lot of consideration in the parties he throws. And even if he is troublesome to cabinet mates, he does distract them from the everyday routine by doing things on a whim.
Matching this would be his kind heart. He’s good and fair to everyone. And he would place his life on the line for anyone, even if he didn’t know them for every long. Though Nokoru has assets, he is humble about them. He is not one to brag about his title or how much money his family has. When Nokoru does flaunt his money it’s for someone else’s benefit. Like funding a trip around the world as a prize, or buying a home so an old woman could continue to live there. He never brags about his intelligence either, but instead he rather show that he is, so people can make that conclusion on his own.
His kind heart is shown in how he treats women as well. Nokoru is a feminist in the sense that he wants women to be treated fairly. Nokoru is the first to protect any girl that is in danger, usually calling upon innate abilities that even he’s not aware of. And it’s not farfetched to believe he worships women in a way. In the manga, Nokoru is driven by making the female protagonists he encounters happy, and he seems to have an interest in learning more about women.
Nokoru doesn’t fully understand woman, but that thrills him even more. Part of Nokoru’s eccentricity is probably his obsession with woman. This is probably why he goes through such lengths to study each woman’s daily habits and background on campus. He can even memorize the handwriting of every girl that sent him a love letter. And he’s able to recognize the woman on his campus by face and name. He also can't talk badly of any woman, and can only find her to be lovely even if they’re not the same way towards him. He would also defend a girl that other girls hate. He also is disgusted when woman, or even female animals are mistreated. Showing disdain when Suoh mentioned that male peacocks usually have many females around them.
Nokoru can also be very mischievous. In order to get out of his chairman duties he sometimes plays tricks on Akira and Suoh. There was one time he fashioned a robotic replica to take his place, while he took a nap. And he also likes to tease Suoh and Akira about his unrealized romantic feelings. Also how he deals justice is very playful as well, in the first chapter of the manga, he tricked a realtor into signing contract where zoo animals were allowed to stay in his office building.
Although Nokoru has good qualities he is also flawed. Nokoru is the biggest procrastinator. It doesn’t matter how much work needs to be done, he’ll avoid it. And even with how intelligent the blonde is, who can finish his work in minimal time, he would rather come up with another venture. Nokoru also has a fear of getting close to people. It’s speculated that he’s been kidnapped times before or been approached by people wanting to use his money or brains for their motives, somehow people he’s known has gotten hurt. Although, he is close to Suoh and Akira, he still gets quiet when either of them gets hurt especially over him. Another flaw would be
