Character's name: Timothy Drake-Wayne / Red Robin
Character's LJ: detectivederp
Character's canon: DC Comics
Brief (around 300 words) personality outline of your character: At heart, Tim Drake is purely good-his motivations are genuinely focused on justice, and his greatest wish is to see an end to crime and pain. He’s even enough of a dreamer that he believes that day will come eventually. It might still be far off-but that will hardly stop him from fighting for it. He genuinely cares about people, has a good sense of humour, can be there for people and lead them, and wants to put an end to victims of violence and injustice.

He’s also something of a control freak. He is afraid of losing control of situations, as it’s never exactly brought him any good. And it is through intense planning, manipulation, and control that he wages his war against crime. Unlike many of his associates, he does not look at it as a battle consisting of one fight at a time-but instead as a larger picture, with pieces needing to be arranged. In recent years he’s begun to compromise, to fall into shades of grey. He is an analytic genius, and sometimes plenty willing to detach himself from his emotions and step over boundaries that other heroes would not. He has contingency plans for anyone he doesn’t completely trust, ready to take down anyone-hero or not. He keeps tabs on how people behave, their weaknesses, etc, so he knows how to take them down. He’s plenty paranoid, and hard-pressed to trust, and he definitely looks at the bigger picture, always planning ahead. As a result of all of this, he tends to divide his life up into two distinct halves, with his two identities. He’s always felt awkward with the two of them mixing, preferring to keep his lives separate-and he is beginning to become more comfortable as a vigilante than as a boy. This might be part of why his social skills tend to be a bit on the awkward side-he no longer feels all that comfortable as a ‘normal’ boy, with ‘normal’ friends. Set him, unarmed, against a gun-toting gang? Sure thing. Ask him to deal with an upset friend or, heaven forbid, girlfriend? Ohgodpleaseno.

Tim’s got a hard shell on top of all of that and quite a few issues compounding that good, if a bit too practical, soul inside him. He’s been through a lot, bears a lot of guilt, and is a bit damaged. He possesses quite the Berserk Button. When his friends and family are hurt, he snaps and can act irrationally, to say the least. Trying to clone a dead best friend, in order to get him back? Been there. Joining a team of deadly and evil assassins in order to prove his ‘father’ is still alive? Done that. Threatening to kill someone, or actually trying to, for hurting his friends, despite his insistence that ‘we don’t kill people’? Got the T-shirt.

Brief (around 500 words) history and background of your character OR link to a really good wiki page with their history. In either case, explain where they cut off from the timeline: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Drake#Fictional_character_biography
http://www.comicvine.com/tim-drake/29-9290/ for a super long-winded one…

Both of these are missing the most recent stuff. Tim stays in Gotham for a while after foiling Ra’s’ plans, and starts plotting himself. He comes up with a ‘Hit List’-which is basically an ongoing plan to take out a huge amount of villains, corruption, etc (and also a contingency plan for some heroes). In the process of taking out a bunch of villains, he gets himself targeted by Scarab (again), but uses Miss Martian’s shape-shifting powers to stage the shooting, which also helps throw Vicki Vale off the trail (somewhat). At this point he also teams up with Lonnie Machin, the former Anarky, who works as a hacker for him. He also frees Lynx (whom he had captured in a rather dramatic fashion) from prison, because she claimed that she was an undercover cop. Then he runs off to Russia with Tam!

So he’s cut off from canon right about there-he’s back in Gotham, has his life sorted out, no one thinks he’s crazy anymore because Bruce is back. Despite being ‘injured’ and all that, life’s pretty good for him. He’s starting to work on that whole ‘Batman Inc’ thing, and is about ready to go to Russia to do some investigating of his own.

If the character has magic, mutant, or otherwise metahuman abilities, please explain what they are and outline EXACTLY how they function, as their powers may not work due to the nature of the ship or may need to be limited somehow: N/A.

Non-superhuman special abilities of note (Is your character a master ventriloquist? A naturally-occurring super-genius? The best martial artist in the world? Say so here): Tim is very bright, a natural at all things intellectual-and this was honed even further when he was trained by “the world’s greatest detective” (Batman). Beyond intellectual training, he also has received a whole lot of physical training. He’s very agile (and sneaky), and an impeccable fighter. He’s adept at stick fighting, as well as a very wide variety of fighting styles. He also practices meditation and healing arts. He speaks several languages besides his native English, in varying degrees: French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Russian, Navajo and Cantonese among them.

His suit is also very well equipped, with various non-lethal weapons (largely for distraction purposes, such as smoke bombs, etc), throwing discs, a collapsible staff, etc. The cape is designed to double as a glider with the right wind speeds.
