Mmmm... Pine-Strawberry Ice-Sorbet-Cream...
Have you ever got a mix of two flavors of ice cream/sorbet on a hot day, then had to go somewhere in a hot car? The concoction (fortunately lidded for me to take home) melted fully and mixed. It is now a light orangey-pink, with yellow pineappley swirls. Mmmm. It tastes more strawberry than pineappley, mostly because I ate more pineapple sorbet (it was on top) than strawberry icecream yesterday, then got into the hot car. I drove my friend home, then went home myself, and put the box in the freezer. I took it out this morning, and when I opened the box, I noticed re-frozen melted icecream on the plastic lid-top. Does this mean that it melted and rose all the way to the top? Or does it mean that it just sloshed around a lot while I was driving?
I'm thinking that next time I get this, I should get a box of pineapple sorbet, with a small scoop of strawberry icecream on top. I definately like the pineapple sorbet better than the strawberry icecream. For one thing, i get quite tired of strawberry, quite fast. For another thing, I just seem to like sorbet better (I also have some lemon-lime sorbet in my freezer - yum!). For yet another thing, pineapple sorbet comes with little frozen pieces of actual pineapple in it. How cool is that? (pun intended)!
