A big week

Feb 21, 2010 10:05

This week has been a bit more crazy than usual. No doubt it's one I will put down as a record week in insanity. Monday had a lot of strange to it, though not all of it was bad. Even though Goren officially clocked out for the last time on Friday, it wasn't until I saw his empty desk on Monday that it sunk in for me. Being without a partner meant that I got to spend the morning doing paperwork. Goren did send me an irritating text to let me know that he had gotten a lie in, knowing damn well I have forgotten what one of those feels like. I'd poison his coffee, but the opportunity to do that has passed.

I didn't have to wait that long for a new partner. Zach Nichols finally got promoted from probation and he's now stuck with me. Actually, we get along great and we've already worked together on the Caspers case last month. Not to mention he helped with another case, though I think he was just bored then.

Gaining a new partner isn't the only thing I did on Monday. Nope. I also got an engagement ring. I don't normally like surprises, but this is one that I actually loved. We don't need to focus on that as I'm sure it doesn't interest anyone...

Anybody been keeping up with the Winter Olympics...?

[Private Thoughts]

It's actually real, and it's taking a lot of effort to not get over excited about it. It's different because it's not just talk this time, it's not something that was just suggested and will never be brought up again. He even put thought into when he was going to ask. Though he is wrong, I wouldn't have said no if he asked on Valentine's Day just because it would be a cliche'. But I do like that he wanted to be different.
