Knock, knock, knock.Alex stood outside Bobby's front door, holding onto Ellie and helping her to knock as well. Well, if Alex couldn't grab the man's attention, maybe the little one could. She always seemed to do that with anything she did

Ellie beamed happily at Bobby, at the same time Alex nodded as his face appeared from behind the door. "Hey," she greeted. "Are we disturbing you?"

Inwardly, Alex found herself smirking at how he'd been reading- she'd figured he would have had his nose in a book. "Good," she told him. Stepping inside with Ellie, she asked, "reading anything interesting?"

Ellie glanced around and babbled slightly at Bobby- although it was unclear what she was actually saying.

Alex smiled with a nod, looking down at Ellie who let out a giggle at Bobby. "Well, after spending the morning annoying Daddy, we thought we'd come annoy Uncle Bobby." She smirked, obviously teasing. Their day had been much more involved but phrasing it this way was definitely more fun.

"I'm sure Ellie will be okay here. For a while, at least," she smiled. She hadn't intended to drag him out the house. "How're you?" Alex asked, lowering Ellie to the ground and letting her stand next to her; her little hands gripping tightly to Alex's leg.

"Water would be good, thank you," she replied. "Ellie's got a drink in my handy bag." She gestured to the bag hanging from her shoulder.

"You guess?" She asked, a hint of concern in her voice.

Ellie let out a little delightful laugh before grabbing hold of the couch and letting go of Alex altogether.

Alex opened the bottle and took a sip, accepting his answer this time. She took a seat and watched as Bobby held out his hands to Ellie. "She can take a couple of steps, except she's not confident enough."

Ellie eyed his hands and giggled, "yo-yo." Keeping one hand on the couch, she reached forward with the other and waved at him.

Ellie smiles as she tries to step toward him but he's slightly out of her reach. She pauses as she ponders this.

"We've tentatively set it for the 30th August, the Saturday after her birthday," Alex replied.

Ellie lowered herself to the ground and crawled to Bobby instead.

"...cheater." Alex laughed.

Alex held out her arms to Ellie. "Good," she told Bobby at his being free, "I was hoping the advanced warning would mean you would be."

Ellie squealed happily and simply bounced, clapping her hands in delight before holding them out to Alex in return. "Mama," she said. But she didn't move away from Bobby.
