Ellie's first birthday is next month (...it's also my birthday next month, but let's do what we normally do and skip right over that little treat). I can't believe she's almost a year old. She's done so much lately that she feels like a different baby -- I know she's not, but that's how it feels. Last night, I caught her standing without holding onto anything. It was barely a minute before she realised and quickly leaned against the wall- and then it was only when she realised I was watching her. Whoops... She can do it, she's just scared.
And she's saying quite a few words now. That or I have Ellie-ears, and I just hear these words when they're really just a lot of baby-babble nonsense. But I swear I have heard her say "dog" and I know it must be that because she points towards Max everytime she does- in an extremely high-pitched squeak that goes right through you.
...I need ear plugs.
Also, she's got these rashes on her skin and she can't stop scratching- and it's a battle just to encourage her to think about something else. After several attempts to get her an appointment, I've finally managed to find out what it is -- eczema. Lovely. But at least now we know what it is. That doesn't help when she's crying about it, though.
There. Consider yourselves updated.
