RP Post | Ellie's Christening, Saturday 31st [09.50am]
It was later than she'd originally wanted it to be; Christmas had gotten in the way. Not that she minded too much but Ellie was at the point where she was more curious about things around her than the person holding her (unless it was grabbing a hold of a nose or an ear--or anything loose attached to said person), never mind the fact that she was struggling with stranger anxiety- so the chances of getting her to stay quiet and calm whilst a stranger dropped water on her forehead was something that would prove to be a challenge.
However, she figured it would all work out okay. This wasn't going to be such a huge event- it was just a few close family members and Ellie's sister, Sam (along with Connie Rubirosa). Alex wasn't sure it was all that wise to have a celebratory get-together afterwards. It seemed to be too much effort and too much fuss. That and she didn't want David to have to spend too long playing nice with people- he'd just get annoyed, quickly, and it was supposed to be their day. And Alex wanted it to go without a hitch and actually be memorable.
Time to start hoping. She turned to David as they sat in the car, outside the church. "You ready?"
Poor little Ellie was snoozing in her car seat- unaware of what was about to happen.
