crappy day yesterday...

And of course, the awesome day of finding out about my OCS slot had to be followed by one of the crappier days I've had in a while. I went to bed at a decent hour (9:00pm) the night that I found out about my OCS slot (Tuesday), and that's b/c I knew I had to be on TOC guard at 3am. I couldn't get to sleep. I was too well-rested from the night before, and too excited about my OCS slot. I spent 2 hours going back and forth between reading and trying to fall asleep. I finally fell asleep around 11:30pm. Then at 2:30am I got woken up for TOC guard. I figured this wouldn't be too bad, b/c I'd just have to do the weekly COMSEC (COMmunications SECurity) changeover on all the radios afterwards, then go back to bed. WRONG. After the 2 hours or so it took me to do all the radios, I had to take my truck down to the motorpool for maintennance, even though our day was supposed to be Friday. After I finished with my truck and got the dispatch paperwork for it complete, we got called out on a QRF mission. The QRF mission was total BS, too, b/c of some miscommunication/misunderstanding somewhere. So after about an hour out at the site where we weren't needed, we got to go back. Then it was time to fix some new problems with the truck that we discovered while we were out. One of the problems with trying to fix communications problems is that all the stuff you need is on the FOB, but radio checks are almost always successful on the FOB b/c everything is so close together. Then when you go out in sector and put some distance between yourself and the nearest radio, THAT'S when you discover the problem wasn't fixed after all. Ugh.

Anyway, I got my shower and went to bed at like 4pm, only to wake up at 2:30am again this morning for another mission that turned out to be a total waste of time. At least I'm not as freaking exhausted as I was yesterday.
