hectic 24 hours

OK, so yesterday I was planning to hit the gym as well as call the JAG/FLEP recruiters as well as some law schools to get some further info. Just like any day I make plans, a patrol was sent out that had me in it! There was an incident a few days ago involving helicopters, another unit, and some misidentification. You may see reports about this incident in the news. I don't really know what happened myself, and this is the last I will talk about it until further notice. We had to go out and explain the situation and what was being done to resolve it and/or prevent a repeat. We left at 6pm and got back at 9:30pm. I had guard at midnight until 3am, and again from 6am to 9am! This was because the mortar section (I was doing guard with them) was covering 2 guard shifts so that most of our platoon could go back out on ANOTHER mission this morning at 7am (inprocessing more CLCs or Concerned Local Citizens). I was beat down, but at least I got to sleep a good bit from about 10am until about 2:30pm today.

Well, while we were out last night, I was talking to the guy who was taking my July and giving the June dude his May leave so that I could go home in June (convoluted enough?), and it turns out he's being sent to another company soon. This meant that we probably won't be able to swap leave dates around. DAMMIT! Well, I was praying about it, and hoping that I could still go home in June to take the LSAT. When we got back to the PB, our platoon sergeant was talking to 3 of us about the plans for that night and this morning (including the horrible but necessary guard roster). He has me down for June anyway! God really is helping me out. If you're not religious and uncomfortable reading about this, too bad! :P
