A long time ago I got used to the idea that the information about my life was effectively public domain. I used to worry about wiretapping, the NSA, etc. I remember when the telecommunications act of 1996 was put into effect and I knew that after that became a reality any phone could be tapped from anywhere.
I would rather have the option to live a private life and have a government that does not attempt to detect thought crime. When I choose to live in that world, its sad to say it, but I will probably have to move to another country rather than try to fix the one we have.
Given the broad impact the most recent news about the NSA will have on the American tech sector at some point in the future I may have to move to another country to practice my trade. All in all it makes me fairly sad that the government is treating its own citizens without trust.
