As soon as Adachi arrived back at his apartment, and bid goodbye to Naoto, he made for the sofa and collapsed on it, eyes firmly shut and one hand pressed to his forehead. The effects of the virus were still continuing and with Naoto gone, it was practically impossible to ignore what was only in his mind.

Damn community.

worst fear virus, maraich, fml

Maraich grabbed a toy and a few baby supplies and got a worldhop over to Adachi's. He still knew the area from last time he was here - it's not as if it was a huge town. So with Figaro in his arms and Matthias following him on the ground, he knocked on Adachi's door.

The knocking made him jump and he winced a little, forcing himself to get up and answer the door. Adachi's expression tightened but softened again quickly at the sight of Maraich.

"Hey. Thanks for coming," he said and stood back to let the door swing open. "Um, want any help with the kids?"

Matthias was walking on his own, bottle in one hand and struggling to hold his blanket, but managing. The rest Maraich was carrying, and he handed over a bag of items, "Sure, you can get this. I just have to make sure I'm ready when I have the kids."

He made sure Matthias went into the apartment first and followed closely behind before setting Figaro down. Figaro seemed content to sit and watch for the moment.

"I brought over one of the ball toys for Matthias," he turned back towards Adachi, "How are you feeling? Any better?"

Adachi took the bag and deposited it on the small table that served as his dining table, grinning down at Matthias. The boys were cute, no denying it.

"Oh, cool, we can all play or something," he said with a smile that looked a little strained. "Yeah, it's... it's better when I can talk to someone else."

"It's a pretty basic toy. He is only two," Maraich chuckled. He got the toy out of the bag and it was fairly straight forward - four colored whole on top of a see-through container, with four balls that could be forced through the holes with a little hammer. The balls would go through a various assortment of colorful contraptions inside before coming out the bottom.
Perfect entertainment for a two year old but not much of a family game.

He was hoping to talk to Adachi a little more about what exactly was happening. Although he'd come all the way over he still didn't quite understand what was wrong, "Do you have a TV? Figaro loves television. Then we could talk."

"Oh, right," Adachi nodded a little sheepishly as he understood what the toy was exactly. Well, wasn't like he was particularly familiar with kids's toys. Except magic sets.

A TV? Of course he did. Trying not to tense too much at the idea of talking, he nodded and showed Maraich the small TV set in the corner of what counted as the living room. "Reception's not always great but I make do."

He went and played with the TV set until something bright and colorful was playing. Not knowing the area or the language, he didn't really know which channels were for kids - or if Adachi even had those channels.

But Figaro wandered over and sat down in front of the TV, even changing the channel himself after Maraich went to take a seat on the couch. So with Matthias thwacking balls with a plastic hammer and Figaro watching TV the place was suddenly a lot noisier than it probably usually was.

"Here," he sat on the very edge of the couch, "Why don't you lie down? I'm still not sure what happened."

Adachi was quite happy to have all the noise going. He thought about fiddling with the TV when it looked like it might get stuck on the news but it ended up on some music channel he'd never paid much attention to. Well, it hardly mattered as long as the kids were happy.

He sat down with a sigh, not quite lying down but not straight up either. "I'm not too sure myself," he lied. "It's just... I know that somehow it's the community messing me about, getting in my head, and it still won't stop. I can still hear them."

"Hear them?"

He reached over, placing his hand on Adachi's arm, "Do you hear people picking on you?"

It seemed like something that would bother Adachi, having people tease him.

Adachi shook his head slowly. "No, not that... I mean, hell, I hate it when people do but this virus seems to be pulling up worse stuff than that. Stuff that actually scares you." He wondered, almost idly, how much of a lie he might be able to get away with here.

Because there was no way in hell he'd explain this stupid forgiveness crap.

"Are they... threatening you?" he still didn't get it. Maybe bringing up something tragic in his past?

Maraich pulled on him slightly to lie down all the way, "Come on, you're safe here."

He smiled thinly, the expression completely humourless, and let himself lie down without protest. "Something like that. Sort of. It's..."

He sighed, or pretended to at least, buying another second or two of thinking time. "It's kinda something to do with a thing that happened a while ago. A dumb mistake I made."

"Something painful from your past?" he gently stroked his fingers through Adachi's bangs, twirling them slightly and letting go.

With a past as painful as his own, he could imagine how much that could hurt.

He frowned a little, not liking to recall what had happened, even briefly. "It was just... so stupid. It wasn't even that big a deal! There was this women I worked with and it just all went wrong."

He rested his hand on Adachi's head, running his fingers through his hair just above his ear every now and then.

"A woman...?" he wasn't sure he quite liked where this was going, "What happened?"

Damn, he hadn't wanted to bring this up - but he wanted even less to explain just what exactly this virus was making him hear. "Not a lot... dumb broad led me on." Which was a very slight twisting of the truth but it didn't matter.

"Anyway. I got into trouble 'cuz of her, she made complains and I got stuck out here. End of."
