Who was "the one that got away"?
The one that got away has to do with both work, and personal life. I always tried to keep the two seperate. I always knew someday the two would collide, but I never thought for once it'd be as choatic as it had been. It was a routine store hold up, in my old neighborhood which was a dangerous place for me to tread.
I did my job gathering what I could from the crime scene. The suspect had been shot so blood was left, as well as prints. I had them processed as per usual. It was the results of the fingerprinting that sent my life out of control and spinning. They belonged to my older brother. The DNA matched. It had hurt something inside made me feel as if I was going to be sick. I ended up being the one that arrested him, had to put him into the patrol car. Amongst his eyes burning into me and the eyes of people I once called friends glaring.
He got away with it. I don't know how, but he got away.
