Half Birthdays
Rachel will be 6 months old on Saturday. My mother wants to do something... I'm not so sure. It's not really a birthday, it's half a year, and yes, she's grown a lot and it's important, but I don't think a party is necessary. Not to mention I think Alan already has plans Saturday and he's the only one who can keep her quiet around loud crowds... and my family is exactly that.
I can sense this is going to be a fight... I'm not giving in this time. I went along with the Christening and even let her dress Rachel in that awful bonnet.... she dresses her in awful clothes and puts those ugly baby headbands on her head even though they make her scream. At some point Mom is going to have to realize that Rachel is my daughter, and I have the final say in these things. I think this "party" will be it.
Am I out of line here? Do people really throw parties for "half-birthdays"?
