It's been just over a week of classes and things look kinda goofy. I am far from being in full-swing as far as academic responsibilities go - reading for class, starting assignments early, and so on, but I trust myself enough to be on top of things soon enough. I'm quite sure I bombed my first electronics quiz and the introductory lab report, but I don't care too awfully much. I'll do better this week, for sure! Chemistry is going to be cake. Annoying, nine-in-the-morning cake, but easy all the same. Mechanics is okay so far: I think I'll do well, though the professor and book are less effective than I would like. Jogging will be manageble enough and I appreciate the forced motivation to move my body periodically. The math problem solving seminar will be fun, though I need to be careful not to make a fool out of myself, as most of the stuff we'll be working with is somewhat beyond my skill-level and my classmates are more experienced.
Speaking of making a fool of myself, an attempt to more clearly present a homework problem in mechanics resulted in the professor stomping my shit all over the place by pointing out that I was doing essentially the same thing, which I certainly agree with, but why-oh-why did he use a cross-product to find the angle between two vectors! It's such unnecessary work!

On the whole, I think this semester will be easier than I had anticipated. Electronics Lab is still scary, though.

This Friday, The World/Inferno Friendship Society is performing at The Black Cat, hurrah! It's going to be me, Tonic, Tonic's younger brother, Flash, Jessie, and a very nice young woman I recently met (she's in the same mechanics class).

I started reading Kurt Vonnegut's classic novel Slaughterhouse Five for the first time and I am tearing through it, enjoyably. I've been working on some new piano pieces as well. Tutoring starts tomorrow! I have longish MathLab shifts on Monday and Thursday and a couple of physics tutoring sessions.
