So, I called my job, and they let me speak to the manager that would be there tomorrow, but as soon as I was on the phone with her I lost my nerve and instead asked if I could leave early. She (after a pause, I might add) said that if I 'wasn't feeling up to it I could go home'. Great. That means I'm not leaving early. I knew if I asked to leave early they would say that, and that would guilt me into staying the whole entire time.

My plan of attack is to pop throat lozenges like candy and pray I don't aggravate my illness.
