Earl. I wonder what you would have me do. Boring as it is, I've done my research. The Malnosso seem to mock your plans. They return the dead to life, but without the creation of Akuma. The dead simply return. I can't understand it, but I know that even if you were here, nothing could move forward. I'm stuck. Anyone I kill will return, and I don't doubt that for each person I kill, I'll have a hundred little heroes trying to get revenge. I could kill them all, but it would get tedious, to kill the same people over and over again.
Even if I wanted to, Allen Walker is here. He's only going to make things much more difficult than they have to be.
But we're all weak, compared to the Malnosso. Those scientists could be even more powerful than the Earl himself.
[A spoken "tch" is recorded, and there's a pause as he digs out a cigarette.]
What a creepy place. If there's nothing I can do to advance the Earl's plans, then I suppose I'll just have to amuse myself some other way.
[Here he jots down the names of everyone he's spoken to so far. For those whose names he didn't get, there are just little phrases -- "Guy who likes to be difficult," "Bug girl," "Turtle Ninja," etc. There are a few of these.
Only one name -- "Hyuuga" -- has a little star next to it.]
Haa. What a strange little town this is. You've got mermaids, possibly fairies, gods and goddesses, enough heroes to pack a theater to the rafters...

And we're all just putting on a show for the big bad Malnosso. I think I'd like to meet them.
