The 10th anniversary special act vol. 1 - GIANIZM

Before I get to the report... for those of you who contributed to the Fan Book this time around, don't worry. It DID get finished and did go into the gift box; I just forgot to take video of the finished book before doing so. ORZ I'm sorry. I do have the front and back cover designs floating around somewhere if anyone wants to see them. *_* Thank you to everyone who contributed!!!

Ok, yes, live report. Sorry about the huge delay... I got quite sick right after the weekend of this show, and have been trying to get caught up with life ever since. *_*

Anyway. Going to the Arena was a pleasant experience. It can hold a lot of people but it was in one of its smaller configurations. I didn't really mind cuz it was still huge, and on the plus side, while we waited in line for goods, we got to stand inside, on the backside of the giant moving section of the arena. XD It was a lot warmer in there, and they were showing the Gianizm DVD on the big screen. :o

Ran into Hitsugi's parents. XD That was surreal.

Stage: You may have seen some of the official photos by now, but the stage was pretty cool. It had giant steel claw-like things wrapping around it; It was easy to joke about Ruka being in his protected cage. XD Like at Budokan, there were two long extensions running off from the stage on either side so the boys could run back and forth and play. XD I was in the 7th row on the end, Sakito side, which was a great spot, but a little sad because I'm almost always with Hitsugi for shows. ;_; At least the end spot gave me more room to shake my tail (ahahaha, literally XD).

They had music going on before the show, and immediately preceeding the start of the live, they started playing "This is Halloween" from Nightmare Before Christmas. XD The entire arena started to clap and dance to it. It was very cute and kept me amused until the lights went out. XD

The boys come out, in their Gianizm Ten outfits. I initially thought it was just the backlighting, but I was wrong... Hitsugi's hair was koolaid red. It was all spiked up like a super saiyajin or something. XDDD

24. ジャイアニズム惨 / GIANIZM 3
26. 極東乱心天国/Kyokutou Ranshin Tengoku ((Giant Group Headbanging, as always. Since the fan vs. band choreography in this song is very powerful, and Hitsugi has his solo, this is about the time he started to get wibbly. ^^;;; After the song, he spent quite a bit of time walking around and grinning all silly at us before going off stage.))

Encore 2
27. Star[K]night
((The song slowed down in the middle, as at Five Stars Night, and we sang the chorus acapella a few times. Everyone started to get REALLY emotional. ;;_;; The significance of their ten year anniversary was really starting to hit them.))

After the song ended, they were allowed to walk around for quite a long time... rather like Tenka. They threw everything they could out to us, and Hitsu walked from one end of the stage to the other, wibbling and looking humbled. Yomi was getting teary, too, and even Sakito looked like he might break down a bit. Oo; Hitsugi and Yomi shared a big hug... it was preceeded by Hitsu walking down the stage right platform with his arms wide open and Yomi on the main stage, arms wide and waiting. XD It was cute.
I don't remember exactly, but I think Hitsu was the last off stage again (or second to last)... he got on the mic and thanked us all, and his voice cracked. ;;;_;;;

It has been stated that they started off celebrating this year with Saitama, but it's just not true. This show was good, but I think the New Year's Countdown in Sendai was their favorite show of mine... and it had to be one of the greatest nights of my life. They played a larger variety of stuff for that (I happen to like ALL their songs/styles, not just the fast stuff), and it was very intimate and relaxed. They were at home, and it felt like we were all so close. ;_; Best of all, I was just a few feet from Hitsu, and there were a lot of very sweet moments in there. *^^*

This sort of smaller live is my preferred sort with this band, but Saitama WAS a very enjoyable show. I like how they never get over being on stage... they often become overwhelmed with how far they've come and how much we love them. Even though they've come this far, I hope they never forget how that feels, because of all the things that make me love this band, that has to be the thing that endears them to me the most. ♥

-------

Not a great report this time... sorry... I will do better with the next round. ^^; Blame Japan for making me get sick.

Next up is Sics Nine with Beat Shuffle (I'm going to the Osaka show), and then Naito's mini-tour in April (I'm planning to go to Osaka and the final in Tokyo >D). Yoroshiku!!

live, nightmare
