Live Report - Nightmare at Zepp Sendai 12.31.2009 - 01.01.2010
Setlist and costumes were already posted by uranaoki... I am stealing them. ^^;
So yeah. Sendai was cold. We waited out in the line for the goods and we got SNOWED ON. There was accumulation. --;;; Despite that, the snow was pretty to look at. Plus we had a big ad screen behind us, and occasionally it would show a preview of the Gianizm Ten PV, and we'd all go batshit and then whine when it got cut off by a new ad. XDDD
There were REALLY OLD PHOTOS of the guys posted, too, so you could look at them while waiting in line. Sadly, some people were looking at them too long and holding up the damned line. --;
ANYWAY. We got our goods, went back to the hotel to stand in a bathtub of warm water (there are photos somewhere), got ourselves psyched up and went back to Zepp for the show.
I was in the door early, and planted myself in front of Hitsu's spot, second row behind some cosplayer who was like doubled over the bar the whole time, so I had a completely unobstructed view. XD He was like 5 feet away. And I *know* i'm close enough if I can see Yomi's acne. ^^;;;;;; *pets Yomi*
And I saw Hitsugi's parents! By now I'm 99% sure it's them. XD I saw the same woman in both the Sendai guest seats AND wandering around outside Saitama, and the man with her looked a bit like Hitsu and... has a very large head. ^^;;;;

Stage: Plain. Black. Unfettered. Except that Ruka's drum art was TWO. BIG. PHOTOS. Of Yomi making funny faces. XDDDD We were horrified and delighted at once.
The boys come out, and they're all wearing old costumes:
Yomi - ZANGE (MAN DRESS. Complete with blood during the first encore. That was some funny shit. XDDD)
Hitsugi - Anima (CUTE. VERY. He even had his hair styled similarly.)

MCs: Lots of various stuff. Other than Midnight, I can't remember all of it, but some of it was very poignant. Yomi was remarkably subdued. I think they talked about what they wanted to do this year and stuff like that; Yomi asked each guy about their costumes and got yelled at for taking too much time. XD skobedo, can you remember the other stuff? I'll add it later if we can come up with anything between us. -_-; I was distracted by certain parties, to be sure. XD

縷々～lulu～ (......the intro for this played, and I just went GASP! and covered my mouth. And I automatically looked at Hitsu--he wrote the lyrics for this song--and he was starting to wibble. ;_; And that made me actually cry. He kept looking up at the ceiling or at the floor or whereever to not look at us, cuz he was going to lose it. You can tell that was special for him. ;_;)

The boys threw stuff and then went off. When they came back on, it was time to get ready for midnight. Some of them had changed a little; Ni~ya changed into a t-shirt, Sakito had put a tshirt over his stuff (he was embarrassed XD) and Hitsu had his costume on still, save for swapping the top for his Peace Maker jacket.
It was nice through here, because the mood became very casual. Ni~ya sat down on the drum platform and invited Hitsu to sit with him while the other guys were still being introduced. The roadies were gathered at the edge of the stage, watching and grinning their faces off. XD
There was a big screen up behind the drums, and at two minutes to midnight they started projecting this big clock... when it popped up Hitsugi got excited and went NUTS and started hopping and skipping around the stage and over to his tech guy and back again. XDDD It was indescribably adorable.
We had decided that at midnight we would all leap together, so the boys all joined hands on stage (HILARIOUS GAY TENSION between Ni~ya and Sakito XDDD They were like EW EW). The girls on either side of me grabbed my hands, which was nice after we had been BASHING into one another, and then we counted down to 2... and then Yomi goes "SEIIII NO" (the Japanese equivalent of "And a one, and a two,") and we all jumped. XD And the audience went batshit, and the boys were just humbled. ;_; They hugged each other and Hitsu was wibbling, and prolly Yomi too.
The crew wheeled out a giant barrel of sake, and as per various Japanese celebrations, the guys all took wooden mallets and bashed in the top to open it. Sake went EVERYWHERE. XD Then each guy took a turn drinking a toast out of the traditional little square box... with varied results. XDDDDD Initially, everyone started chanting NI~YA, NI~YA.... cuz, you know. Alcohol and Ni~ya. And he was like HAYYYYY YOU GUIZ ARE MEAN. But I think Sakito went first, no real issues other than sake flowing down his front, and then Ni~ya with the same, and then Hitsu went up and had HIS turn... sake running down his chin. And then he came over to us with a bottle of water and was like BLEH BLEH EW (he likes smoother and sweeter stuff XD).
Then... came Ruka. Hands down, one of the FUNNIEST moments of the night. He starts drinking with his back to the crowd, and then Ni~ya coaxes him to turn around, and he's got his cheeks full of sake and he's making the most PAINED, "PLEASE SAVE ME" look ever. XDDDDDD He did drink it, but ... he struggled. It was terribly amusing.

Jishou (Another AWESOME MOMENT OF AWESOME... a large crowd of the stage crew, who had been watching happily since midnight in a big cluster on stage right, were trying, ATTEMPTING to do the furi along with us. XDDDDDD I'm surprised they don't know it better, but it was awkward and freaking adorable. And you KNOW that they love the band they work with, or they wouldn't be up there making asses of themselves. XD)
The guys go offstage and come back on fairly quickly.

Star[K]night (Absolutely gorgeous. The boys were pretty emotional by this time, and then we did the bit where all of the fans sing, and it's just our voices and nothing else. We were allowed to go on a bit longer than I think Yomi let us at Saitama, and it was completely, sweetly wonderful. The boys were standing there and I think the weight of the day finally hit them. It's going to be one of my favorite live memories from their shows. ;_;
For my part, my arm got so tired of doing the back-and-forth wave while singing that I just leaned on the people around me and watched Hitsu while singing along. He just stood there and was looking at the floor again, briefly glancing up until the sight of us had him on the brink of tears again. ;_;)
At the end, they did the usual walking around and tossing of stuff. If I remember correctly, Hitsu was the last off again... the other guys were keeping it together fairly well, but he looked liked he was losing it (and I think someone said Yomi did, too). When Hitsu finally left the stage, I could see him glomp onto the stage manager guy and allow himself to be coaxed away. ;_;
OBLIGATORY FANGIRL WANK (feel free to skip):
It was good. ;_; So good. By now I'm pretty comfy being up that close to Hitsu, and he doesn't seem to loathe my existance. XD There was the usual "oh God she's here" look, and I caught him doing the "stare when she's looking at Yomi" thing a couple of times, but I didn't think much would happen because of the significance of the evening, and him being distracted by that. It's even enough that he comes over to the edge of the stage and plays... looking up from his feet at him is.. erm. Sexy. *_*
...But somewhere during the first set, a song finished and he walked over near me, and he looks at me and sticks out his index finger, and WIGGLES it, in that kinda-fruity way that acts as a mini-wave, and gives me this shy little smile. Oo;; I swear to God, if there were pebbles on the stage he woulda kicked at them. I was OVER THE MOON. ^^;;;
Then, after Jishou was over and the boys were going off stage briefly, he took off his guitar, came over and stopped in front of me and gave me a little bow, like he has before. Plus that killer shy smile. @_@ This boy will be the death of me.
Anyway.
You guys, if there were only one Naito show I could go to this year... this would have been it. Of course, there will be something amazing later on this year and I'll eat my words, but still. I wouldn't trade that night for the world (no pun intended, hur hur).
